NEW – Tiered Pricing

At Camp Huston we believe all youth and families should have an opportunity to attend camp programs and financial need will not be a barrier to those experiences. The tiered pricing model allows families to self-select the summer camp fees that are appropriate and accessible to their family’s needs. We’re grateful to those who can afford the unsubsidized “actual” cost for supporting this effort to broaden our reach as we seek to create transformative programs for our youth and families to engage in at Camp Huston.

Tier #1 | The unsubsidized “actual” cost of camp represents the full cost of operating camp, including not only the basic costs of camp but also, long-term maintenance and wear & tear to the camp facilities.

Tier #2 | This self-selected subsidized option enables families to participate in Camp Huston programs and represents costs that are closer to our historical pricing.

Tier #3 | This self-selected, further subsidized option enables families to participate in Camp Huston programs and represents costs that are significantly below our historical pricing.

For families who need extra financial assistance, Camp Huston also offers two additional scholarships:

    • The Bishop Curtis Scholarship Fund was established to support families-in-need in sending their children to summer camp. Any family affiliated with an Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Olympia is eligible for financial assistance, regardless of their circumstance. The camper’s family, the camper’s church, and the Bishop Curtis Scholarship Fund each cover ⅓ of the cost of the camp session.
    • The Director’s Scholarship Fund was established to support families-in-need in sending their children to summer camp or a participant to a Huston retreat. The participant or family agrees to pay ⅓ and Camp Huston pays ⅔ of the registration fee, regardless of their circumstance. Additional options are available upon request.

What can campers expect?

We spend a lot of time in Discovery Groups, which consist of two cabins of similarly-aged campers, their counselors, and a Discovery Group Leader. Every group is unique and has an identity all its own. There will be games, songs, hikes, team-building activities, camp outs, archery, swimming, crafts, and a time for reflection at the end of each day. Outside of our Discovery Groups, the whole community joins for meals in Curtis Lodge, as well a campfire, a variety show, and a dance during the week. An Episcopal priest from the Diocese of Olympia joins us every session to provide counsel and participate in program activities.  They also help Discovery Groups plan chapel for each night. We hope that you’ll make friends, experience nature and have fun!

Rules for acceptance and participation are the same for everyone regardless of race, color, religion (creed), sex, gender expression (identity), national origin (ancestry), or sexual orientation.

Camp Huston is accredited by the American Camp Association.
